Red Wine

There are three types of red wine available at Skærsøgaard. Gold Top: A wine made from three grape varieties, matured for a year in new French, American, and/or Hungarian barriques. Leon Millot - a single grape wine. Matured in new Danish, Swedish, French and American barriques. This red wine is available in a version with one year of maturation in barrique and a Reserva version with two years of maturation in barrique.

Gold Top is only produced in years in which the tannins are sufficiently ripened. This was not the case for the vintages of 2011, 2012, and 2015. The best vintages are 2006, 2009, 2014, 2016, and 2018. Skærsøgaard’s red wines have won 46 medals and are designated as regional wines from Jutland - PGI (Protected Geographical Indication)
